Assignment: Type a report from class in Microsoft Word:
2nd Grade: Weekly Story
3rd Grade: Journal
4th Grade: Narrative Writing Exercise

Create your own font, size and color for each heading and subheading. Format the main heading as Centered while the paragraphs are Left-Aligned. Double-space the entire report. Insert Clip Art from the Online Resources.

How to Navigate to Word: Start – All Programs – Microsoft Office – Microsoft Word

Questions:
1. What is the difference between Shift and CAPS Lock?
Answer: Shift capitalizes one letter, only while you are holding the button. CAPS Lock capitalizes as many letters as you type until you take press CAPS Lock again.

2. If you make a mistake and need to go back and change it, what key could yo use?
Answer: Backspace

3.What button moves your cursor to the next line?
Answer: Enter

Challenge: Use Microsoft Word to type your spelling words. Hit enter after every word. Capitalize the first letter of each word. On the last word, capitalize ALL letters of the word.

 Review: Bold, Italics, Underline, Line Spacing, Font Size, Font Color, Highlighter, Font Style, Alignment

Tabs: HOME, INSERT, PAGE LAYOUT

Questions:
1. Name some buttons located in the Home Tab.
Answer: Bold, Itallics, Underline, Font Size, Font Color

2. Name a few buttons located in the Insert Tab.
Answer: Insert Picture, Insert Shape, Insert Clipart

3. Name some changes you can make the layout of the page in the Page Layout Tab.
Answer: Margins, Page Color, Page Border 

Challenge: Use Microsoft Word to type your spelling words. Change the font and color of each word. Then, insert a picture on the page. Finally, change the background color of the page and add a border.

Challenge: Use Microsoft Word to type all the letters of the alphabet in order. Change each letter to a new color and font and size.


Week 6: 2nd Through 4th Grade

Review: Bold, Italics, Underline, Line Spacing, Font Size, Font Color, Highlighter, Font Style

New Tools: Align Left, Align Right, Align Center, Bulleted List, Numbered List

Challenge: Use Microsoft Word to make the groceries that you wish your parents would buy. Make a bulleted or numbered list. Change the font, color, and style. Highlight the three items you most wish you could eat everyday. Create a title and center it with a larger font. Make the title bold.
